Is the Great American Teacher Dead?

“The intellectual campus of the teaching is almost dead. Everything remains basically the same and boring.”

Education is a passionate, positive, inspired, inviting, meaningful, and trans-formative process of acquiring education. If we don’t try to put into practice this way of delivering everything when we teach, then the teaching becomes flat and the interest is lost.

What is the status of great teaching in the U.S. today? It is difficult to tell.

Teaching should have a reform, use new methods. We should not be left alone with what we have already learned. We must encourage, motivate, seek new horizons.

Not everyone can see what things are failing in the United States, but people coming from the outside can see the differences. An Italian anthropologist, Cerroni-Long spent time at an American university. She could see that American students were not very deeply intellectually and found American students to be profoundly anti-intellectual in their attitudes.

The university world is not the place where students are inspired so that teaching can flourish, this must begin a long time before. Recent studies have shown lack of depth and inspiration in teaching. Teachers can and should do their job better, they should be encouraged, to be more exciting, courageous, entertaining, stimulating and a little more inspiring.

The time to change and start teaching with the soul is now!

The students' critical thinking can be improved through dialogue, intriguing questions, exploring the unknown, and new ways of seeing the world. Students can be inhaled through attention, acquiring new ideas, captivating them with problems to solve, examining and comparing information with reality.

Teachers need to capture the attention of students and deepen their teaching. Learning works best when it becomes interesting, with relevant stories, giving students the opportunity to investigate for themselves new horizons and also giving them the opportunity to work in groups.

Teachers must teach  with love for their students. People do not learn or perform well if they do not feel emotionally safe. The acquisition of knowledge is impacted by the emotional environment, the field itself is created in the atmosphere in which it is taught. If students do not believe in themselves then it begins to lower their performance, therefore it is important to motivate students to believe in themselves, to have confidence and high values. Teachers can make a big difference in the lives of each student if we really teach with the soul and the love for teach,  educating and the desire to see positive and encouraging results.

would like to close this topic with a conclusion to highlight:

“…If we want to complete the mission, the first order of business is to take care of the troops. If one takes care of the troops, the mission will have the best chance of success. If we take care of our students, our mission of educating them will be greatly facilitated.”

  1. The tech can be all the essential that were but without the affective filter so necessary in this time, it will be little
that achieve. Take care of human material is essential and is precisely there, where teacher plays an important role, the students need guide and that great responsibility is doing our work well.
